The Art of Becoming Even More Beautiful

The Art of Becoming Even More Beautiful

The art of becoming even more beautiful

There is something deeply fascinating about women’s rituals.

Not the ones constructed for men.

The ones they follow when they think no one is watching.

It is a silent art.

Lipstick applied with the precision of a painter.

A lock of hair adjusted ten times, even though it was already perfect the first.

A glance in the mirror that lasts a few seconds longer, as though a private conversation were taking place inside it and no one else had been invited.

And that is precisely the beauty of it.

I was not photographing lipstick.

I was photographing care.

That particular respect a woman can offer herself when she decides to give herself time.

Because let us be honest… she did not need it at all.

She was already beautiful before she picked up that brush.

But perhaps that is exactly the point.

Beauty is never satisfied with itself.

It is always chasing one more detail.

A reflection.

A shade.

Something no man will probably ever notice.

And yet she will.

Women have this astonishing talent for turning details into something immense.

We men, at our best, take a shower, put on a shirt that does not smell too bad, and convince ourselves we are ready to face the world.

Not them.

They build an atmosphere.

A presence.

A version of themselves born not from vanity, but from the desire to feel at home in their own skin.

And the difference is enormous.

I think that is also why I love photographing them.

Because there is always one tiny moment when they lower their guard.

An instant when they stop being what the world sees and simply become women again.

And that is when something happens.

Time slows down.

The light changes.

Even silence seems to take a step back.

For a photographer, witnessing that moment is a privilege.

It is like seeing a painting while the artist is still laying down the final brushstroke.

You know it will be finished soon.

But somewhere inside, you hope it lasts a few seconds longer.

Because true beauty is never the result.

It is everything that happens before.
